Playing

How do I change the mode or the difficulty?

Tap the mode pill under the title on Home (“Playing Classic”) to choose Classic, Triple Match, Peek Memory, Endless Cascade or Two Players. Pick a world, and its screen lists the five difficulties, from Easy to OMG, with the stars earned in each.

Can my child play without the clock?

Yes. Turn off Time Limit in Settings, under Game. Every mode but Endless Cascade then plays without a clock. Mismatch Penalty, just below, decides whether a wrong pair costs 10 seconds.

How do two players work?

Choose Two Players from the modes. Fox and Whale take turns on one device: find a pair and go again, miss and it's the other player's turn. There's no clock, and two-player games don't count toward stars or scores. A tie goes to a bonus round.

The sound or music is too loud.

Settings › Sound has separate switches for Sound Effects, Music and Vibration. The device's own volume buttons work too.

How do I see the tutorial again?

Settings › Help › Show the Tutorial plays the first game again.

Photo Worlds

How do I make a world from our photos?

On Home, tap New World beside Photo Worlds and answer the question for grownups. Pick 4 to 24 photos, or tap Surprise Me for a random handful, then give the world a name, a card back and music. There can be up to six worlds.

Do our photos leave the device?

No. FlipFriends keeps small copies of the photos chosen, with their location removed, and uploads nothing. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I change or remove a world?

Open the world's tile and tap Edit World, or go to Settings › Photo Worlds. Remove This World deletes its copies of the photos.

Progress and Grownups

What's the question for grownups?

The parental gate: a multiplication sum with four answers to pick from, and a button that reads it aloud. It stands in front of anything that leaves the game or changes a photo world, so a child can play without wandering off.

Where are stars and scores kept?

On the device. Stars, best scores, stickers and achievements are saved after every game and stay until the app is deleted. Deleting FlipFriends deletes them too.

We played the old FlipFriends. Are our stars still there?

Yes. The first time FlipFriends 2 opens, it brings over the stars, best scores and achievements from the earlier version on the same device.

How does Game Center work?

When the device is signed in to Game Center (in the Settings app, under Game Center), scores go to the leaderboards and achievements are unlocked there too. Opening Game Center from FlipFriends asks the grownup question first.

What are reminders?

An optional nudge to come back and play, off until it's turned on in Settings. The device asks for permission the first time.

Which devices does FlipFriends run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.6 or later, and iPhone Duo, closed or open.
